New York State Gaming Commission Chairman Brian O'Dwyer sent a letter to NCAA President Charlie Baker on Monday commending the college sports sanctioning body for "raising the visibility" of concerns related to college player prop betting.

Baker and the NCAA have spent the past few months lobbying state lawmakers and regulators to remove college player props from their legal sportsbooks because of worries about [harassment](https://worldaid.eu.org/discussion/profile.php?id=1469741) and threats being directed toward the student-athletes by angry bettors, among other things.

The support from the regulator of the New York sports betting market will likely be welcomed by the NCAA as it continues to push states to restrict college player props.

There are still 20 states that offer those [markets](http://1.117.67.953000/rlmnichole6458) in some form: Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
